Catherine Bofinger was born in Alameda on Dec 9, 1896. The youngest of 8. She was 9 years old during the great earthquake of 1906. She was married to Harry Webb Kopp (Foss) 19. 2/ 19 /1916. 6 months later… children: Barbara (Dad’s biological mom) born 8/ 17/ 1916 Betty born 5/28/1918 Died 6/6/1918 during the flu epidemic. Then 7 days after her daughter, Betty was born. My great mother Barbara was 2 years old. Harry was 23 and had a nervous breakdown. Each grandmother took one granddaughter. Catherine’s mother took the oldest two-year-old Barbara (my great grandmother).and raised her til she then started living with her Aunt Julia. Just one year older than her own mother. She married and divorced 3 times while she lived in the Sacramento area in the 1930s
